Counter-Currents Matching Grant Update
Waiting for the Great Pumpkin

[1]295 words

Tomorrow, October 31, Halloween, at 12:00 pm Pacific Standard Time, the Great Pumpkin will rise from the pumpkin patch and bring the first Counter-Currents fundraising campaign to a close.

Since our last update, we have received $1,694 in additional donations, in increments from $5 to $500. Because every donation is matched dollar for dollar up to $6,000, that means that we are $3,388 closer to our goal of $25,000.

I want to thank everyone who has helped us get this far. We are deeply grateful for your faith in what we are doing.

When our thermometer is updated, the total will stand at $21,141. That means that we are $3,859 from our goal, i.e., within striking distance.

Starting tomorrow, I will do hourly updates of the thermometer so you can see our progress. Of course it would be much more exciting if we had a photo-finish, but I am a nail-biter, so if you are planning to donate, I would prefer you do it sooner than later. Just click here [2].

Remember, our benefactor will only match donations that are actually made before the end of the month. We cannot ask him to match pledges of monthly support, which can go on indefinitely — or be cut off after a couple of months. But if you sign up for a monthly payment program, your first month’s payment will be matched. (You can sign up at our donate page: https://counter-currents.com/donate/ [3])

Where does the money go? We have three main priorities:

  1. Making it possible for me to do this full time.
  2. Making it possible to pay our writers for their work.
  3. Expanding Counter-Currents by (1) publishing more books, (2) introducing a weekly podcast, and (3) holding events around the country to bring together local readers and supporters of Counter-Currents.

Thank you for your readership and support.
