Mrs. Paglia makes some interesting points, especially being that she is an atheist.
However, comparative religion ‘Joseph Campbell’ style is not going to motivate anyone to achieve greatness, at least in my opinion. Hippie-dippie dabbling in the occult of Jungian psychology is just another form of bourgeois mediocrity.
Evola, for instance, said that he didn’t care whether the mosques or churches were empty or full so long as the elite caste had embraced a metaphysical system which molded the rest of society.
“Hippie-dippie dabbling in the occult of Jungian psychology is just another form of bourgeois mediocrity.”
That was pure poetry.
I love to know what Charles Upton would have to say about this insidious new-ager! Is there any chance Counter Currents could ‘solicit’ and comment from him?
In the meantime I highly recommend CC readers to listen to the 2 -part interview with Charles Upton by Greg Johnson and Michael Polignano on Counter Currents.
She sounds like she is channeling Northrope Frye. He wrote a book about the Bible as literature.
There are those who see religion only from the outside and then those who go at it inside out. I find it very amusing that secular humanist think they can discuss religions generally and have no idea of the particular as if a label explains all. Poor woman, she is still at the rebellion stage. Lots of people make a good living at that stage, especially if you can talk fast. There may be similarities in religions, I am more interested in the differences which she fails to note. (however, it was a short interview)
However, I agree with her that the humanities have taken a terrible hit at universities. My own opinion on that is that most professors nowadays do not know their stuff and they use grand theories such as freudianism or marxism etc. to display their ignorance as wisdom and/ or knowledge.
The interview was not what I expected. So much common sense in there I really can’t believe that she is an educator.
The only quibble (and it was only one comment in a twenty minute interview) I have with “this atheist” is the usual claim that God is against art. He is not. He is against us worshiping art. A claim I make based on Exodus Ch 25 where God Himself gave instructions on how to build the Ark of the Covenant where He Himself ordered that two graven images be built into it.
She’s an awesome lady. Read the Sexual Personae years back and think it well worth the while of CC readers. I wonder if she’s been exposed to the ideas of the new right. She seems like a fellow travel to me. http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/Cami
Demosthenes in blockquote:
A very astute observation. I think this is the hidden secret of how the NANR will move to define the ideological agenda in the fulness of time, and it ties with an observation strongly implied in the comments of Harold Covington.
It appears that, if you self-select for “Elite” values – meaning the true beliefs of the organic, meritocratic aristocracy – you inevitably SEE “White nationalism” before your eyes, without having it explicitly defined as such.
This is why Yockey is so important. His focus on the VERTICAL component of Race reminds us of our duty to meet the needs of the cultural moment in terms of duty to a transcendent Order. This is why I act as if I was an Ambassador from the Northwest Republic to what America has become. In effect, this lays the foundation for our equivalent of the Brahmini caste.
Duty. Duty. Duty.
Speaking of “duty,” this is as good a time as any to remind one and all that counter-currents relies on our regular monthly payments!
Because if we don’t Speaking of “duty,” this is as good a time as any to remind one and all that counter-currents relies on our regular monthly payments! as Fourmyles of Ceres suggests, we are, in the words of Private Fraser Wur Doomed, Entombed & Marooned.. ( or at least seize as much of the matching fund that we can -every $5 helps.

Paglia is always worth your time even if you disagree. What I like especially in this video is how she emphasizes how she teaches her students to be in awe, respect and admiration for the cultural heritage of the ages and not make it small and break it down to pc-orientated zeitgeist smart-assing and deconstructing. And it is true: the cultural power of the Bible is not to be underestimated for our history, and you don’t have to be a believer to admit that.
Does Camille not realise that the Elite have
created their own magic art? That the1960’s was all about
/desecration and was a magic ritual art activity to destroy
The People’s conscious and numb all of us? To control us? And now they entertain only
Themselves with symbols and codes? Art today is for the. Elite, enjoyed alone by these creepy one dimensional creatures and that is it . Perhaps if she was not
So beautiful and unsullied she would see .
And it is a religion just not for us.
