A Message from Kerry Bolton

Since our last update [2], we have received ten new donations totaling $1,225. Jef Costello will match $651.20, for a total of $1,876.20. That means that our total so far is $23,704.30. Our goal is to raise $50,000 by October 31, so we are $26,295.70 away from our goal — almost half way there.

Two of these new donations are just the first of monthly pledges, which are a huge help.

Again, I want to thank all of our donors for their generous support.

Since Jef Costello’s heartfelt appeal and generous matching grant were such a big help, I decided to break the monotony of my voice by asking our other writers to pen their own appeals for support. The first to respond was Kerry Bolton.

A Message from Kerry Bolton

For decades the Right in the Anglophone world was largely a philosophical wasteland, and those not blessed with the knowledge of a language other than English had only a few resources such as the now-defunct journal The Scorpion, which reprinted articles by and on such European luminaries as Alain de Benoist and Julius Evola.

In recent years this woeful situation has been changing dramatically. There are now some excellent English-language Rightist book publishers, journals of scholarly standard, and more sophisticated means of reaching those who seek an answer and indeed a faith beyond the banalities that predominated within the Right of the English-speaking world for so long.

Among the most versatile of these projects has been Counter-Currents Publishing and North American New Right, with its increasing outreach via both traditional and new media. Not only is the project providing translations of essential authors hitherto only or mostly available in languages other than English (eminences such as Maurice Bardèche, as a most recent example) but it is providing opportunities for new thinkers, researchers, and writers, across a range of disciplines and genres.

While a movement cannot be formed around an intelligentsia alone, conversely neither can an enduring movement be formed without a philosophical foundation; a suprapersonal Idea. While that “Idea” has been here for many years, fermenting particularly among generations on the Occident, again the Anglophone world has not been so well served. Counter-Currents Publishing is among the forefront of those building upon that foundation. However, since we live in a world based on the cash nexus, the harsh reality is that a movement “against time” and “above time,” can only function “in time” if it is given sufficient resources to do so.

Each year, when the call goes out to maintain the necessary funds, the challenege is met, and the time limit is made within a hair’s breadth, it is surely a sense of great achievement for everyone concerned that Counter-Currents Publishing/NANR has again shown that it has inspired the commitment to enable it to continue to advance.
