This is the letter to the Bishop that was referenced.
Good interview! Lincoln is an interesting guy, please do have him on another time.
I was listening to a discussion a while back on the BBC World Service about the concept of race. There was the usual decrying of it and how it’s created all our problems etc but then one interviewee chimed in to say that without someone being born into a tribe and by extension a racial group, how could a child have been nurtured and therefore how could human existence have at all been possible? So, the concept of race is entirely organic and natural, and in spite of our modern world should be preserved. I was surprised that the BBC let this pass through the editing suite but then the truth is what it is.
good interview BUT some issues:
1)the US economy remains a massive manufacturing powerhouse–we are not reliant on just exporting Hollywood movies. The US may soon be self sufficient in energy and start exporting natural gas. We remain a major food producer and despite our environmental mismanagement we possess a lot of water which is essential to growing food.
2)Lincoln is a good interviewee. Who does he think will win the culture war in India: Bollywood or Hollywood? What is the state of China’s film industry?
It’s one of the shows, based on the topics covered above, that I wouldn’t mind seeing a transcript or written summary for the hearing-impaired.
