Hillary’s Alt Right Speech a Dud

As your intrepid reporter in the field, I watched the whole of Hillary Clinton’s “Alt Right” speech ^[2]. And my God, is it boring. The whole half hour of it was an extended gripe about Donald Trump — essentially treating the paid for rent-a-mob as a captive audience on which to inflict a litany of complaints.

OMG! Donald Trump said this, many years ago. Guess what, no one cares. Donald Trump did that, many years ago. Nope, nary a shrug there either. Her low energy lawyer stripes are showing as her speech is put together in a tedious blow-by-blow “character assassination” of the Donald, only that anyone who feels DT is offensive, bigoted, divisive, and so on is already voting for Killary.

From what I can tell from the photos, the speech took place in the sports hall of the community college, and the view from photos taken by independents instead of MSM show it as barely half full. The signs held by the protesters generically say “USA” or Hillary stuff. There isn’t any of the authentic, scrappy, hand-made Build The Wall stuff that Trump attracts in his packed stadiums. It has the feel of a low-grade photo op, only her handlers have learnt to put a few actor plants in the audience, as to avoid gaffes like “Please clap” that could occur if it were populated only by Hillary voters.

Probably the most disturbing aspect is her total lack of human warmth. Hillary has her “WOW, OMG!” laugh-smile that she plasters on when pretending to have the emotion of “happiness,” and she applied this at the end of the speech, gawping and pointing at random placard-wavers like they were long-lost cousins. This was weird after a grinding assessment of how one Donald Trump contravened statutes and bylaws X, Y, and Z of “respectable debate.”

Throughout the entire speech, Clinton at no point told the audience what she intended to do to combat the “bigotry, extremism, racial prejudice, white supremacy and white nationalism” she encountered. She simply told the audience that Trump had made comments that reflected these concepts. Until the last two minutes she made no mention of how she wanted to improve America or make it a better place to live, but padded the entire half hour with factoids about how Donald Trump offends the orthodoxy. It’s almost as if she doesn’t care about Americans.

It’s worth noting that the complaints themselves are incredibly asinine. She comments that “Trump fans taunted Latino students with chants of Build the Wall, and Learn to Speak English.” This is what passes for white supremacy and bigotry? Insistence that border jumpers at least learn enough pidgin American to be able to serve burgers to the natives they colonize? Scrounging up old scandals from the back of the media fridge, reheating them, and serving them up as “fresh”? It doesn’t get any more tasteless than this, especially when it comes to being disgusted by campus activism that is actually pro-American, rather than peace-n-love and soft communism of the ’60s. With every pronouncement, Hillary amps up the moralizing and fixes the audience with what she imagines to be a leaderly gaze.

In truth, her look is detached and impassive. It’s clear that she’s not really mentally present or speaking in a natural manner. Instead there’s the mental loading screen of the next platitude behind her eyes. There’s bitterness there, too, and the busted wiring look of someone who has decided her compassion was an obstacle to power rather than a reason to attain it. Hillary has spent her life manipulating her way into the corridors of power for no other reason than she wants power for its own sake.

At least Baseball Fan Barack has the human characteristics of enjoying things like golf and being bored by particular teleprompter lines. Hillary is merely humanoid, a shell of a person who has nothing left save for a determination to take control of the U.S because she feels she is entitled to. Maybe she’ll kill a few more people on the way to the Presidency, because at this point, “what difference does it make?”

What she’s banking on is that if she and her media minions can convince enough people that Donald Trump is bad, and the “bigotry” he represents is bad, because it just, well, is, then she will win the election by default. Nonetheless, her lifeless delivery gives the impression she’s already resigned to losing.

By the end of it, Clinton has gone fully off the rails. After making the gaffe midway through of saying that Putin has somehow grandfathered the Alt Right — as if we Frogposters are on the Kremlin payroll — Hillary asks if an “African-American from New Jersey” would “Have a place in Donald Trump’s America” as if Trump is an esoteric Hitlerist instead of a civic nationalist defended today by Al Sharpton. She says she wants to “build an America where if you work hard you can get ahead and stay head, and that’s the basic bargain of America.”

She challenged her audience to “prove that America is already Great because America is Good.” In this, she validated almost word for word what James Kirkpatrick wrote ^[4] about the hollowness of the American Creed: “Having abandoned racial, religious, and cultural forms of identity, and with the Constitution ‘no serious threat to our system of government’ (in Joe Sobran’s phrase), a nonsensical tautology is all the true believers in America have left. America is different, they say, because it is America.”

This is the reductive creed that Clinton, Democrats, and “limited government” Conservatives share: America is “Great” because to them it isn’t a country defined by a historic people with clear ancestry, traditions, and living spirit. It’s a “bargain,” a pact to be made with any migrant willing to flip burgers faster and longer for lower wages.

America is Great because America invites anyone to become American, at the cost of diluting and erasing everything and everyone authentically “American” to start with. Wanting to preserve America is “bigotry, prejudice, racialism, and racism,” as it gets in the way of driving down labor costs and ultimate white genocide. Trump is a “bigot” because he acknowledges that “you either have a country, or you don’t have a country.”

To Hillary, America is nothing but a soulless machine that she wants to control, and real Americans nothing but obstacles to her ambition.
