Jack Donovan on White Nationalism

Jack Donovan (Malebranche), "Hitler With Sad Eyes," oil on black velvet

2,440 words

“Mighty Whites”

I started rubbing elbows with White Nationalists a few years ago.

I call ‘em “The Mighty Whites.”

I support White Nationalists. They are not all equally right about everything, but I am sympathetic to many of their general aims. Read more …

Fourth Wave Feminism

Feminist artist Alexis Hunter's "Masculinisation" -- obviously about emasculation

1,629 words

When Cynthia Cockburn and Ann Oakley wrote about the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women this year, they decided to skip writing about violence against women. Instead, they criticized the “culture of masculinity”—and men, generally—for perpetuating all forms of violence.

Feminists have nursed a perverse obsession with what men think and do for decades. Read more …

Violence is Golden

Graphic by Harold Arthur McNeill

1,779 words

A lot of people like to think they are “non-violent.” Generally, people claim to “abhor” the use of violence, and violence is viewed negatively by most folks. Many fail to differentiate between just and unjust violence. Some especially vain, self-righteous types like to think they have risen above the nasty, violent cultures of their ancestors. They say that “violence isn’t the answer.” They say that “violence doesn’t solve anything.”

They’re wrong. Every one of them relies on violence, every single day. Read more …

“Corporatism” or Mercantilism?

1,191 words

The Occupy Wall Street protest is innovative from a technical viewpoint, as a protest form.

OWS is creating some news and some controlled chaos, and that is probably a good thing.

As a political movement, it is more about crowd psychology than anything else. The OWS folks don’t know what they want, and as a collective they don’t even seem to understand what they are against. Read more …

Misrepresenting Masculinity:
The Forty-Nine Percent Majority

9,910 words

Editor’s Note:

The following essay is the second of two we are reprinting from Jack Donovan’s No Man’s Land, a free e-book available for download in HTML, Kindle, and PDF formats from his website here. I hope you’ll agree that this is too good to give away for free.

Over the last few decades, many have attempted to “reimagine” masculinity. Read more …

Measuring Masculinity by the Size of a Paycheck

John Collier, "Tannhäuser and Venus," 1901

536 words

This morning I made a post on The Spearhead titled “Is Masculinity a Matter of Money?” in response to conservative radio talk show host Dennis Prager’s recent essay on the four legacies of feminism.

The question was rhetorical, of course. My answer is “no.”

Masculinity isn’t merely a matter of money. If it were, any woman (or any man) with money would be regarded as manlier as a result of wealth alone. Read more …

Getting Funny Right

402 words

For a long time, Left-leaning satirists and comedians  have owned funny. Credit it to nepotism or closed doors, but the best humor you could hope for Right-of-center was the occasional libertarian toker or cartoonish redneck self-parody. Blogger Jonathan Chait congratulated the Left for their mastery of satire in a post for The New Republic only a few months ago. Read more …
