This memorial was unique in two ways: (1) it is the only memorial built by Jews primarily for other Jews, rather than gentiles, and (2) it is the only Holocaust memorial created before organized Jewry began exploiting Jewish victimhood during WWII as a means to justify Israel’s expansionist policies by equating critics of Israel with the Nazis.
