Jejich jména vtiskla název mnoha bulvárům našeho výjimečného, avšak zohyzděného hlavního města: Berthier, Murat, Jourdan, Masséna, Soult, Brune, Bessieres a další. Napoleon svým dekretem ze 14. května 1804 jmenoval prvních čtrnáct císařských maršálů, aby k nim zanedlouho přidal dalších deset.
