Miss Polly

Leonardo da Vinci, Madonna Litta

Leonardo da Vinci, Madonna Litta

3,068 words

They were sleeping apart after Yusuf had yet again failed to stand up to his parents, who still refused to acknowledge their son’s de facto relationship with her. Maureen had just overheard heard him yet again tactfully and without remonstration decline to be set up with someone more to their liking, who would make him a “good wife.” They would sleep apart that night.

Her bed was a raft out in a pitch black sea reminiscent of an illustration in a book of nursery rhymes from when she was a child. Read more …

The Pro-Colonial Trilogy:
55 Days at Peking, Zulu, & The Sand Pebbles

Zulu3,686 words

55 Days at Peking (1963), Zulu (1964), and The Sand Pebbles (1966) aren’t part of an actual trilogy, and aside from Zulu, the films aren’t necessarily about colonialist projects in the strictest sense. Additionally, the movies are produced, written, and directed by entirely different people. However, they are remarkably similar in some ways, and they all have a pro-white rule vibe.

The 1960s were a radical, change-filled decade. Read more …

A Scene at the Beach

beach_umbrella_711,625 words

The other day, I had one of those fist-trembling moments. I was at the beach, waiting in line to buy a cheap lunch at a food truck. The person taking orders was a congenial, light-skinned, middle-aged black who was carrying on an intermittent conversation with a younger, darker friend of his while taking orders. The kid seemed in his late teens and sported a white visor and a thatchy, stylish goatee. He brimmed with cool, easy confidence as he leaned against the truck, shirtless.  Read more …

On Tribalism

FascinationBallerina1,175 words

Spanish translation here

One of the arguments frequently made by white nationalists, white advocates, and other members of the alt-right community is that tribalism is natural. By tribalism I simply mean the preference that people have to be around and associate with others like them. Once upon a time, this might have meant that the French, by and large, preferred to be among other Frenchmen, the Dutch among the Dutch, Poles among Poles, etc.
