January is named for Janus, the Roman god with two faces, one looking back on the past, the other looking forward to the future. I like to spend New Year’s Eve and Day alone, imitating Janus by reflecting on the old year and planning for the new one. Whereas 2013 and 2014 were turbulent and chaotic years for me, 2015 was relatively peaceful and highly productive. I hope that 2016 will be similar. I’ll be doing the same sorts of things, just more and better.
Accomplishments in 2015:
- Counter-Currents published a total 929 posts (up from 720 in 2014).
- Our year end web stats indicate that we had 1,244,485 unique visitors to Counter-Currents; there were 3,062,686 visits; and 12,078,054 pages were viewed.
- I published 59 articles and reviews under my own name (not including newsletters, announcements, commemorations, reprints, short fundraiser updates, and other insubstantial pieces), up from 58 in 2014.
- I published 9 Trevor Lynch reviews (up from 8 in 2014), plus four translations of Lynch pieces.
- I translated 6 pieces from French (down from 8 in 2014).
- I also published 192 translations of my own pieces into French, German, Czech, Spanish, Polish, Greek, Swedish, Dutch, Russian, Slovak, etc. which were done by CC readers around the globe. (Thank you!) This is up dramatically from 42 in 2014. Furthermore, the total number of translations is actually higher, since I am only counting the ones I have put online. Others remain unpublished, or I have not yet reprinted them from other websites.
- I conducted 15 audio interviews (up from 6 in 2014) and published transcripts of 2 of them, plus a transcript of an interview from a previous year.
- I also gave 4 interviews (up from 3 in 2014), published transcripts of 8 interviews, participated in 4 Daily Shoah Death Panels, and participated in 4 Millennial Woes Milleniyule Hangouts (2 of them extensively).
- I gave private talks in New York, Seattle, London, Stockholm, San Francisco, and Philadelphia.
- I also organized 11 luncheon and dinner gatherings in New York City, single lunch and dinner gatherings in Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and San Francisco, and a weekend retreat/conference.
- The CC Summer Fundraiser met and exceeded its goal of $40,000. (Click here if you want to get a head start on the 2016 fundraiser.)
- I finally launched the Counter-Currents Foundation, a 501c3 US Federal income tax deductible educational corporation whose mission is to promote scholarship and translations dealing with the European New Right and allied movements.
Counter-Currents also brought out 8 print and E-books in 2015 (up from 3 in 2014):
- Son of Trevor Lynch’s White Nationalist Guide to the Movies
- Collin Cleary’s What is a Rune?
- Savitri Devi’s The Lighting and the Sun
- F. Roger Devlin’s Sexual Utopia in Power
- James J. O’Meara’s End of an Era: Mad Men and the Ordeal of Civility
- Jef Costello’s Heidegger in Chicago
- Greg Johnson’s Truth, Justice, and a Nice White Country
- James J. O’Meara’s Green Nazis in Space!
Last year I resolved to do five things:
- Publish more books
- Train and manage others
- Resume regular podcasting
- Travel and speak more
- Separate the Counter-Currents Publishing site from the North American New Right webzine
I more than doubled book publication, trained and managed people to help me, significantly increased my podcast output (although it was occasional, not regular), and significantly increased my travel, speaking, and networking. I did not undertake the site redesign, and I probably will not do it in 2016 either, but I did take care of a great deal of deferred maintenance.
In 2016, I plan to:
- Increase book production yet again
- Further increase podcast production
- Continue to travel, speak, and organize gatherings. I have already planned events in Atlanta, Augusta (Georgia), Seattle, New York, and the Bay Area, and I will be returning to Europe as well.
- Train and work with others to increase my productivity
- Broaden our donor base
One bad thing happened in March of 2015, when — under pressure from the SPLC, which was amplified in the pages of the Washington Post — Amazon.com dropped Counter-Currents from its Affiliate Marketing program, which earned us about $6,000/year — a substantial financial hit to a business as small as ours. The SPLC’s aim, of course, is to put us out of business. Fortunately, our readers have rallied to our aid.
One good thing that happened in April of 2015 makes me particularly proud: my book New Right vs. Old Right was published in Swedish translation by Logik Förlag. In 2016, French, Spanish, and Polish translations will appear, and translations into several other languages are underway.
I want to thank our writers, donors, proofreaders, transcribers, and all of our readers for their continued loyalty and support. None of this would have been possible without you!
Happy New Year!

Great work and Happy New Year as well!
You’re doing great work, Greg. Keep it up.
Dr. Johnson:
I wish you a happy new year.
You are phenomenally productive and positive-thinking. Your believe in success, not only word but in deed, inspires. This is needed. My respects and thanks to you. Counter Currents acts like a lense to focus the as-yet diffuse light of the counter culture, or as a crystallisation seed as a tiny inducing entity to bring about big events.
Congratulations Greg on a superb site which I am very grateful for. The articles are always excellent although I would also like to hear more interviews more regularly. I appreciate it might be difficult finding suitable guests with any regularity but it is something to think about. Also roundtables make great material.
The work Millenial Woes is doing is super and I was pleased to discover their stuff and your presence on it. This is exactly the kind of material that the enemies of freedom and justice hate, where people are freely talking about the important issues in the world instead of cowering in fear and repeating a bunch of acceptable catchphrases. Millenial Woes has tremendous recruitment potential.
Congrats on the CC Foundation.
Thanks again
Greg,
Thanks for your hard work and may you and all the C-C writers have a great 2016!
God bless!
Thank you so much Dr Johnson for all your hard work. I started reading counter currents around 4 or 5 years ago, and it has been a big part of my intellectual maturation. I think one of the most important things Counter Currents (and other New right orgs) can do initially, and has been doing for it’s readers, is to let them know that they are not alone. My philosophical search for truth, while satisfying, was a deeply alienating experience, and in many ways I was living a secret life, even packing up my books when friends would visit. Your efforts have helped fill others like myself with confidence in their ideas. What impresses me the most when reading or listening to you, is simply your level of decency and honesty, and I think that can be representative of this movement. We are simply people who are too decent to buy into the lies, nihilism and degeneracy of our society, and for years many of us were operating on our healthy instincts, simply unable to explain away what was going wrong. Now we have ideas and arguments that are becoming more and more sophisticated each day, empowering us more and more.
I resolve today to help contribute more to counter currents this year, and to others in the New Right. I hope others will do the same upon reading this. Thank you for your efforts Greg, all of your hard work and sacrifices are paying off, slowly but surely. To quote the death panel, “It’s happening.”
Thanks so much
Zarathustra said it well, Counter-Currents has undoubtedly put many young people on the right path. On a side note, might I know who is doing the Polish translation of your work? There’s an article on this site that I would love to present some of my family members with a translation of. My own Polish is OK but not great.
I greatly appreciate what you have done over the years. The Trevor Lynch movie reviews were actually my first redpill years ago and introduced me to the concept of a sovereign white identity. I could only imagine how I would have turned out if I were still invested in cuckservatism.
That is great news. There are still people who claim that Counter-Currents is a big waste of time because we publish movie reviews.
Those people don’t understand how we got in this mess then. Media is used to craft narrative. Deciphering the messages helps one filter out the propaganda. You pull back the curtain with this perspective. If anything we should review all media. TV series, albums, hit novels, etc. Full spectrum deconstruction will enlighten more people. It is more approachable as well. Philosophy is too heady for many and scientific studies more most. We all entertain ourselves. The media is what informed the worldview of the population. Just talk to any firearms enthusiast about the jaw dropping ignorance of guns induced by the media. We are still a tribal species. Storytelling and social proof are what guides most of our actions.
I used to feel a since of guilt for reading the articles here. That scary spectre of a sort of PC God watching you haunted me and still haunts the majority of whites today. The depiction of someone like me in a movie makes me into a real world monster and in every movie the villagers eventually chase me down and kill me.
One day we will get to a point where passive enlightenment via our popularity will do the brunt of our work for us. To point and smirk like John Stewart and have everyone get the joke without telling it will be the sign of victory.
“There are still people who claim that Counter-Currents is a big waste of time because we publish movie reviews.”
The naturally ultra-practical people will have more to do and won’t be so frustrated once the meme-priests have changed the ground enough for the ultra-practical to take the baton.
Greg,
You don’t know me, but I got to know you quite well. Just wanted to thank you for the hard work you do and for all the insights you share with us. There’s hope and there’s a light in the end of this Liberal tunnel.
P.S. You have a very pleasant voice. I always enjoy listening to your podcasts.
Congratulations on the great year!
And thank you for all the great job you and everyone else at CC is doing!
