A New Approach to Shakespeare Authorship

1,075 words

Forty-Cover-WrapSamuel Crowell
William Fortyhands: Disintegration and Reinvention of the Shakespeare Canon
Charleston, W.V.: Nine-Banded Books, 2016

The idea that the plays of William Shakespeare were written by someone other than William Shakespeare is a well-established motif in literary conspiracy theories. Starting in the mid-19th century, numerous and varied writers have gone into great detail to prove that the Shakespeare corpus was actually written by Francis Bacon, Christopher Marlowe, or Edward de Vere, amongst others. The Left is Afraid

1,598 words

HRCRecently I returned from the most liberal place on earth. For security reasons, I cannot divulge its name or location. Just imagine a place where SJWs and aging hippies go to get in touch (no, really in touch) with their feelings, get rolfed, get high, get in a hot tub, and hope to get lucky. What was I doing there? Lothrop Stoddard in Geopolitics

stoddard-duotone1,301 words

June 29 is the birthday of T. (for Theodore) Lothrop Stoddard (1883-1950)—scholar, lecturer, geopolitical and racial theorist, and author of perhaps eighteen books.

For a century now, anyone with an interest in geopolitical and racial matters was bound, sooner or later, to come across Stoddard’s name and work. Although he held three degrees, including a doctorate from Harvard, in his career he was always foremost a journalist and popular lecturer rather than an academic scholar.  Read more …

Missing the Mark:
The Shangani Patrol (1970)

RhodesianArmyPoster2,567 words

The mechanics of the end of white rule in southern Africa is instructional for people on the “alt-right” who sense that the cannon pointed at Africa’s Portuguese, Afrikaner, and British white tribes is also pointed at the Portuguese, Anglos, and Dutch in their own homelands. Indeed, the same moral scorn piled on the southern African whites is already transferred and one can look up the anti-white statements of various Western politicians on the internet.

An Ode to Canada Itself!

shocked2,940 words

While Americans tend to talk up their country — “We’re Number One!” etc. — Canadians are all too willing to throw Canada under the bus and assert their personal superiority to both. “Yeah, it’s really lame around here, eh, but the neighbourhood [Canadian spelling!] where my cousin lives in T-O[ronto], it’s really happening!”

Illiberal Reformers: Race, Eugenics & American Economics in the Progressive Era
Princeton: Princeton University Press, 2016
