I’d like to know more about the imperative. I lived in Spokane, WA from 1995 to 2014 and I’ve been thinking about moving back because I discovered NW Redoubt movement.
If proper “opsec” (as you guys call it) was practiced, then the opposition would not even know the date of the Atlanta Forum, much less be able to go around looking at bumper stickers to identify the venue (I won’t comment on “political soldiers” living as “dissidents” in a “hostile America” driving around with bumper stickers that identifies their ideology to opponents). Don’t discuss the forums in advance in detail online, and use “extreme vetting” for participants. If the information becomes known, then, if proper opsec was used, you know it was either leaked (stupidly or maliciously) by a guest (in which case the vetting failed), emails were hacked (not proper opsec), or the opposition has resources one would expect from state security. The former two are more likely, hence leaks are most likely from guests or from sloppy Internet security.
As far as guests and vetting goes, in my long experience in the “movement” I note a tendency for activists – eager for support and comrades – to too quickly accept people at face value and take the fox into the henhouse. Infiltrators and moles exist, and while one need not be overly paranoid, being too naive is even worse. Not everyone who asserts friendship is a friend. Then you have cases of people who are initially sincere but have a “change of heart” and become turncoats. With proper understanding and psychology, one can judge the risks for individuals. Such potential turncoats usually are people with a shallow ideological commitment. For example, people who join because of family or significant others, people who join over a single racial incident, people who are lost and are searching for an identity (which they can also get by becoming “anti-racists”), people who are really cuckservatives, people with character flaws or who are just angry and/or rebellious (they can rebel against racialism as well), extreme LARPING Nutzis who over-act and get burnt out, recent former “normies” who have not become entrenched, etc. There are usually warning signs. Folks who “try too hard” are another warning. Read Mason’s Siege on how he identified someone trying to set him up.
The “movement” needs professionalism in its opsec. At the very least, solid researched fiction can provide a template. The miniseries for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Smiley’s People are on YouTube – watch that – moles, tradecraft, professionalism. Also the Day of the Jackal, the precise professionalism of Fox’s Jackal character. When it comes to opsec, George Smiley and the Jackal should be our role models, not Fight Club imbecility or Nutzi LARPING.
Greg, at one point you mentioned some of the background on “antifa” – like drug addiction, gangbanging and apparently their being in the pay of higher ups. This is fascinating stuff and bears more examination.
Of course, we can not expect the mainstream media to investigate this. About the only time I have seen any journalistic investigation of the Left was back in the early 2000s when a local alternative newspaper did an expose on the ANSWER Coalition (turns out they were funded by the World Worker’s Party, a Stalinist front). Interesting thing was that even the local antiwar groups were alienated by ANSWER’s tactics. As for the local “anarchist” black blocsters, they were largely law abiding when marching in the streets (I put “anarchist” in quotes since they appeared to be mainly LARPing punk rockers). Maybe this was because the war-on-crime was still going full force and the cops were using paramilitary tactics to the hilt.
In the last several years, the level of political violence from the Left has increased, and we can look at the Black Lives Matter movement as a sort of “Arab Spring” for America. Same cast of characters: shady networks of activists, international financiers (Soros), prestige media banging the drum, politicos standing down the police, even H Clinton doing her post-Libya part inviting BLM to the DNC. And was this the same the case at Berkeley?
Are the globalists playing the games that worked in Cairo, Benghazi and Kiev, now here in the USA? Perhaps they feel their hegemony really is slipping and are launching a desperate counteroffensive.
Related to this is the switch in the Left party line from anti-globalization (1990s) to pro-globalization (today’s support for “refugees/immigrants”). To stretch this a bit…can it be that global capitalists have bought off the Left and is now using it as an enforcement arm?
There are some articles on this trend at https://www.oathkeepers.org/
You mentioned the German Freikorps and related Rightwing paramilitaries who defeated communist terrorism in Europe in the wake of World War I. Look also at the Argentinian, Brazilian and Uruguayan armed forces which crushed the Marxist urban guerrillas in the 1960s and 1970s. The pattern was that you had out of control Leftist terrorism and violence in the streets; this led to a government reaction which took the steps necessary. A turning point was when the terrorism alienated the middle class and caused government forces to start taking Leftists on one-way helicopter rides over the Atlantic.
Anyway, I enjoyed the discussion of tactics. Let’s see more of this.
I would like to know; would it appropriate to inquire, how many languages Greg Johnson can read, and which ones? I ask this for purely inspirational purposes.
