Answering Vox Day’s Disavowal of the “Fake Right”

1,802 words

What is a true right-wing position? What is truly on the left?

Recent debates between Vox Day and Greg Johnson, and with Andrew Anglin, have called into question the true political allegiance of the German National Socialist Party, as well as that of national socialism more generally. Read more …

In May of this year, I went to London to speak at the London Forum and the first annual Jonathan Bowden dinner. Stead Steadman introduced me to a young Swedish man going by the name Erik Hellberg. Read more …

George Hawley’s Making Sense of the Alt-Right

1,758 words

George Hawley
Making Sense of the Alt-Right
New York: Columbia University Press, 2017

George Hawley is an amazingly productive young political scientist at the University of Alabama. By my count, Making Sense of the Alt-Right is his fifth book in four years. Last year, I reviewed his Right-Wing Critics of American Conservatism, for which I had high praise, although I complained that he had not dealt with populism, which was the animating force Trump’s ongoing rise to the White House.  Read more …

Francis Parker Yockey at 100

474 words

Francis Parker Yockey was born 100 years ago today, September 18, in Chicago. He died in San Francisco on June 16, 1960, an apparent suicide. Yockey is one of America’s greatest anti-liberal thinkers and an abiding influence on the North American New Right. In honor of his birthday, I wish to draw the reader’s attention to the following works on this site.

Close Encounters of the Third Rome Kind:
An Interview with the Author of Rising

Moscow and Peter’s grad, the city of Constantine,
these are the capitals of the Russian kingdom.
But where is their limit? And where are their frontiers
to the north, the east, the south and the setting sun?
The Fate will reveal this to future generations.
Seven inland seas and seven great rivers
from Nile to Neva, from Elbe to China,
from Volga to the Euphrates, from Ganges to Danube.
That’s the Russian kingdom, and let it be forever,  Read more …

Notes on the Ethnostate

Joseph Wright of Derby, A Philosopher Lecturing on the Orrery, circa 1766

White Nationalism is ethnonationalism for white people. An ethnostate is a racially and ethnically homogeneous sovereign nation.

Sovereignty is a principle of international law. A sovereign state controls its own territory and internal affairs. Read more …

On Universal Nationalism

William Blake, The Ancient of Days, 1794

1,296 words

There are two common positions within the White Nationalist community regarding various non-white nationalisms: there are those who support what Frank Salter refers to as “universal nationalism” (nationalism for all peoples)[1] and those who argue that this idea is naïve and that the assertion of any particular group’s interests is invariably a messy process which will more often than not involve behavior that cannot fit neatly into contemporary popular notions of political ethics. The first view is held to be true because it is seemingly ideologically consistent and, additionally, provides the powerful bonus of moral comfort which stems from conforming to the “golden rule”; Read more …

What Next?

1,253 words

There are recent polls that indicate that 10% of Americans agree with the political positions of the Alt Right. We can assume that the actual percentage is even greater given the reluctance of many people to be forthright about holding white nationalist political views. This is an extraordinary increase in popularity for a political movement that until just recently had been virtually unknown by the vast majority of Americans.

Johann Gottfried Herder:
Multiculturalism or European Perfection?

3,096 words

The pursuit of truthfulness has been a uniquely Western ambition since the ancient Greeks came to discover that humans have a faculty called “mind” or “nous” that is distinguishable from bodily appetites and the “spirited” personal emotions, which allows human beings to think rationally in accordance with logical principles and factually demonstrated evidence over and above one’s inclinations and the taken for granted conventions of the time.

The Affirmative Action Hoax: Diversity, the Importance of Character and Other Lies
2nd ed., Oakton, Va.: New Century Books, 2010

Some books are important to the Right because they make us view life differently. They ‘red-pill’ us, so to speak, and open our eyes to modes of thinking which have become almost completely obscured by cultural Marxism in recent years. Other books however allow us to red-pill others. Read more …

Cronenberg’s Crash

2,219 words

I remember the moment in 1996 when I first heard about David Cronenberg’s Crash on National Public Radio. I exploded in outrage. I thought the story of a group of people who made a sexual fetish of car crashes had to be the stupidest movie concept of all time. Not decadent or perverted, mind you—although it was obviously trying really hard in that respect—but just stupid. I had the sense that Western decadence, like a 16,000-page burlesque by the Marquis de Sade, was finally running out of perversions, Read more …

Statues: History or Heroes?

812 words

A new fad is sweeping though the entire Western world. From America to Australia, people are frothing at the mouth to take part in it. No, it’s not fidget spinners. It’s statues, or more specifically, the destruction of statues.

It started with the Confederate statues in the US, honoring our brethren fallen long ago who fought for a cause they believed in (states’ rights, that is, not slavery). “They’re symbols of racism!” shrieked the establishment Left. Read more …

It’s an old meme based on a comedy sketch that gave me my introduction to this question. But it raises a perfectly serious, important point. Namely, it gets right to the heart of why the supposed ideal of “equality” is nothing but a misdirection and a myth. If men and women are equal, then how come women have never successfully oppressed an entire gender? Read more …

There is currently a minor contretemps in the Alt Right and Alt Lite as to whether National Socialism is of the Left or of the Right. Horses on the Camargue

356 words

In the grey wastes of dread,
The haunt of shattered gulls where nothing moves
But in a shroud of silence like the dead,
I heard a sudden harmony of hooves,
And, turning, saw afar
A hundred snowy horses unconfined,
The silver runaways of Neptune’s car
Racing, spray-curled, like waves before the wind.
Sons of the Mistral, fleet
As him with whose strong gusts they love to flee,
