Very few people today remember Colonel-General Gotthard Heinrici (1886–1971). Considered by many experts to be one of the greatest defensive military strategists of all time, General Heinrici was given the unenviable task in the closing months of World War II of organizing the retreat of German forces on the Eastern Front. Outgunned, outmanned, and threatened almost daily with execution by Hitler, who desired constant offense and rigid defenses, Heinrici nevertheless managed an orderly retreat that is credited with saving the lives of more than a million German soldiers. Heinrici’s genius as a military strategist was to take the enemy’s offensive advantage and either mitigate its effects, or in the best of circumstances force the enemy into making strategic errors and thereby turn the defense into an offensive opportunity. Heinrici delivered some notable blows to the advancing Soviet forces, but he had the bad luck to have been given command when the war was essentially lost.
In many ways the events of 2017 culminating in the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville can be understood as a premature foray by the Alt Right into the offensive when a defensive posture was probably the more prudent course of action. However, while General Heinrici had the bad luck of inheriting a lost cause in which the catalyzing events had already been set in motion, the Alt Right has actually been the recipient of good fortune since the debacle of Charlottesville.
In August of 2017, the Left thought that it would only be a matter of a few months until President Trump would be impeached. Never having encountered a Republican politician who actually fought back, the Left was completely unprepared when the Mueller probe began to fall apart, the economy recovered, the Trump-Kim meeting took place in Singapore, and the obstructionist lower court rulings against Trump’s immigration initiatives began to be overturned by the Supreme Court. Then the Democrats’ prospects in the Fall elections began to nosedive, and Justice Kennedy delivered the coup de grâce by announcing his retirement.
Predictably, the Left became increasingly enraged as the events of the past year unfolded. The high time preference reptilian brains of the Left are almost entirely reactive in nature. The Left cannot control itself; indeed, self-control is probably viewed by the Left as a fascistic characteristic. Needing to physically (as well as verbally) lash out at their opponents, the Left had to attack the Alt Lite and Normies since the Alt-Right forces were no longer engaging in public actions in the aftermath of Charlottesville. In other words, the Alt Right was finally in the right place at the right time, that is, at home. An offensive stance by the Alt Right would have been disastrous in this instance.
The Left has set in motion events that cannot be reversed. The Left’s lack of control is pushing the Overton Window in the direction of the Alt Right. Every time Antifa attacks some guy who only wants to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and say a prayer in a public park there are many Normies who begin to make the journey to the Alt Right. Every time a politician of the Left makes an anti-White utterance the beliefs of the Alt Right are normalized a thousand-fold. And every time the Left makes excuses for the bad behavior of aspiring rappers, third-world miscreants, and European-style socialists, the closer we get to having the 14 Words enshrined as the First Amendment of a New Bill of Rights.
While the Left is rapidly accelerating into a madness that far exceeds that experienced during the French Revolution, the sidelining of the Alt Right allows it the opportunity to get its act together before rejoining the battle in an offensive capacity. There are a number of issues that need to be tackled and a number of hard truths that need to be acknowledged before the Alt Right can proceed in an offensive capacity.
First of all, if you cannot organize a conference and bring it to a successful conclusion, you are not going to be able to bring about a political revolution. The logistical incompetence of the Alt Right is staggering, to put it bluntly.
Secondly, for a movement driven in large part by young people who were born during the computer age, it is more than mildly amusing at how many of them continue to ignore the inherent security risks of internet-based communications and fund-raising.
Thirdly, Boomers are not the enemy. The idea that all Boomers are squandering their children’s inheritances and living it up in their second and third vacation homes is a canard. Many Boomers have been fighting the battle against the Left and degeneracy in general since the 1960s when this nonsense first started. More than a few prominent young members of the Alt-Right seem to be afflicted with “Daddy” issues and have transferred their parental animus to their fathers’ generation. Yes, it must be hard to take if Dad is a libtard, but we all have our crosses to bear and some of us on the Alt Right have been bearing those crosses for decades.
And finally, the Alt Right is in desperate need of political leadership. On the intellectual and metapolitical fronts, the Alt Right has an abundance of well-read, articulate, and extremely intelligent individuals doing amazing work. The intellectual leadership of the Alt Right is second to none, but it is ironic in a movement in which hierarchy and traditionalism are so important that political leadership has gone wanting. The Alt Right desperately needs a serious political leadership that can match the seriousness of its intellectual leaders.
Meme-making is important in any revolution, but meme-makers do not a revolution make. I seriously doubt that we would remember Betsy Ross today if George Washington had decided to remain a loyal British subject. For the Alt Right to succeed it needs political leadership and it needs structure. Since it is in our interest to allow the Left to continue to become ever more radical and to keep on attacking normies, we have a period of probably a year in which to reorganize and develop political leaders who can appeal to Generations X, Y, and Z, the Millennials, and yes, even the dreaded Boomers. Only then will the Alt Right be able to convert its defensive posture to one of offense and put into practice Sun Tzu’s principle that “Attack is the secret of defense; defense is the planning of an attack.”

The Jewish Question Going Mainstream Before Race Realism: A Good or a Bad Thing?
You know what will happen? This civilization will collapse under it’s own weight and the “Alt Right” will have little to no part in this collapse nor in the rebuilding of a new world. Why? Because the Alt-Right is pulling in all directions, it’s has no structure no organization and no real leadrship. The Alt-Right will be a footnote of history and history books will write about it synonymously with the neo-Nazis.
History belongs to those who showed up and did something, even if they failed where-as the Alt-Righters of current are advocating a “wait and see” approach, are avoiding and real and direct confrontation with anybody and are hiding behind “conferences” and “rallies”. They are just a bunch of armchair generals and boy-loving(“300” reference, I don’t mean actuall pedos) philosophers.
So while you sit around writing your articles and planing the next conference, history is being made and it’s being made without you – so don’t expect your statues to be put on pedestals anytime soon, unless you get your hands bloody you will achieve nothing.
History is being made by the likes of Trump, he’s not Alt-Right he’s a jew-dick-sucking-zionist but he get’s stuff done while the Alt-Right fiddles.
Thats a reasonable comment, memes do not a movement make. But and not to mull over past achievements, the success of the Alt Right and its shot to fame was the election of Donald Trump in 16. The memes, the trolling and the propaganda was viscercal, ironic, apspirational and addictive. The entire media establishment behind Hilary Clinton, and Trump won. Trump has no sympathy for the Alt Right, rather he’s a Civic Nationalist boomercon, probably pretty red pilled but not capable of making the jump to race realism or the J Q. That is the most influential demographic in the Republican Party. Vox Day’s take is that the Republican Party is whether it likes it or not the White Party, with the Democrats as the Anti White party, this is becoming more explicit. It’s no excuse to rest on laurels, but increasingly White America’s going to consider itself as an in group. Its just whether time is on their side, on a plus, overwhelmingly military and law enforcement experience is on its side however.
There is more to revolution than ineffectual street brawling. Jefferson, Adams, and Franklin never fired a shot during the Revolutionary War, yet there seem to be quite a few statues and monuments to their memory. Yes, Trump is doing yeoman’s work, and it is important that the Alt-Right get its act together so that it can contribute to the coming political changes. It’s not enough to get one’s hands bloody; there must be rhyme and reason to the effort. Charlottesville was ill-thought and poorly executed. It accomplished nothing positive.
I generally agree with you but do you not see some utility in forcing your enemy into letting his mask slip? I would argue that is one positive that came out of C-ville.
OthmarRegin sounds like a Grade A reader of SIEGE.
Violence is not the only way but it is a way. The White Survivalist strategy should not be this or that it should be anything and everything goes. We are the most inventive peoples on this Planet why should we limit ourselves, any strategy used often enough will become useless sooner or later as the enemy adapts and learns to counter it.
We need diversity (of groups, individuals, stunts, movements) to create the impression of an overwhelming force and to scatter their organised forces. 4GW. Ultimately, however, we need our own patricians.
I think what the Right needs is a leader with a military background. Someone with real-world experience in organizing large-scale operations, and the soberness that military experience gives a man. Your example of George Washington is apt…we need a Washington for our times. Someone serious with no degenerate skeletons in the closet. I would guess there are a lot of men like that in our military now, or retired from it. My gut tells me that that man will step forward when events come to a head.
Meanwhile, you are right that the Right needs to just sit quietly and wait. The Left is doing our work for us. Every day more white leftists discover to their shock that their non-white comrades actually don’t respect or trust them or see them as equals, and see them as the enemy – just more white people.
“My gut tells me that that man will step forward when events come to a head” – You are correct about this. White men have always come forward to help and save our people when the situation looked pretty dark for us. Sometimes they are men whom no one would ever suspect as a leader or as having greatness, but there are things hidden in us that might never come out until we are tested.
Your article is so well written; and heaps of thanks in particular for the paragraph on Boomers not being the enemy.
Maybe political leadership has gone wanting because we sense that it’s not about mainstream-style politics anymore, so no one’s heart is in it. Going back to tradition doesn’t mean going back completely.
“And finally, the Alt Right is in desperate need of political leadership” – True, but I’ve often wondered where are the older, mature and more balanced leaders of the Alt-Right? There are a few that I’m aware of (e.g., Jared Taylor and others), but I’m not so sure they would identify as Alt-Righters. They’re also not as perceptive on the ‘Jewish Question’ as many of us would like.
Here’s five brief points I hope we will consider.
(1) In terms of leaders, we need men, not women. Race-conscious White women have their place in our movement (mostly in the realm of support), but they should not be the leaders in it. Any movement that has women as the core of its leadership will not generally attract and inspire men. We need strong, masculine men whom other men will look up to, who will model their ways and conduct before other men who have the potential to serve as future leaders.
(2) We need men who are older and decidedly more mature than the likes of Richard Spencer and others. This is not meant as an attack on Spencer, but it’s hard to deny that his immaturity has shown through on several occasions with him at the helm. Much of this, I believe, is due to his age and lack of maturity at times. The mistakes of our movement would likely not have occurred as frequently had we started with older, wiser and more seasoned men. Regardless of what has been done in the past, this is something we should at least work toward.
(3) We need men who are married (and who have stable marriages especially!) and who have children. This is the ideal, and I recognize that it’s not always possible. Men who are leaders in their home, and who are not ruled by women. I know this will not go over well, but it seems to me that far too many of those on our side are young, unmarried men. A good many are against marriage altogether, and are not particularly keen about having children either. I believe this is the wrong attitude. It is healthy and natural for us to want to marry and procreate, and in this way we will increase our racial numbers and secure a future for our posterity. Condemning the institution of marriage and remaining childless will not be good for our people in the long run. Yes, I know a whole lot of American women are disgusting and rabidly feminist, but there are still some good White women out there. Where there is a will, there is way.
(4) We need men who are moral and circumspect in life. This means they don’t say one thing and live completely opposite to it. They have consistency in both word and deed. They don’t have to be perfect (none of us are!), but only that their lives are not marked by deviancy, gross immorality, drunkenness, dishonesty, unethical business practices, nor the kind that would turn off the very people we want to reach with our message.
(5) We need men who fully abstain from mind-altering drugs, marijuana and alcohol. Yes, I know there are some folks who can handle their alcohol and drink moderately, but my message is primarily directed to those who think they can be effective leaders while still consuming products that threaten their mental clarity and decisions. At this stage in our fight against White genocide, we ought to be the most mentally clear, careful and strategic thinkers out there. But this will not likely happen if we are alcoholics or addicted to marijuana. This is not the time to ‘party,’ but to be sober and wise.
Great comment. I agree. We don’t have these men yet, but hopefully they are on the horizon and heading in our direction.
As for the rest of us misfits. We should just carry the torch until they get here.
(6) We need men smart enough to recognize when maybe their wives or women in general can be right about something or other as regards prowhitism, and in their wisdom will defer to them. This does not make you a cuckold or pussy whipped or whatever other words you like to apply. Excess rigidity in anything leads to excess reaction and then you end up with full-bore feminism.
As to your Item #5:
Good luck. White people, men in particular but some women too, apparently have a gene for alcoholism, it would seem, and can’t (as per your advice) leave the poison completely alone except for some deep motivation to do so. That NPI gathering with Richard Spencer and some other young fellow bragging about his intention to get drunk, all on camera for the world to see, is only one example of the alcohol problem. Consuming alcohol is regarded in this crusade as some sort of natural and right behavior because “our ancestors did it” – see what a bunch of winners they were, taking over the entire world at one point. “Point of diminishing returns” never seems to occur to the manlets in this struggle.
And marijuana? Go read what Greg had to say about this. Any white person wanting this crap more than once has shit for brains. https://counter-currents.com/2015/05/against-pot/
“We need men smart enough to recognize when maybe their wives or women in general can be right about something or other as regards prowhitism, and in their wisdom will defer to them. This does not make you a cuckold or pussy whipped or whatever other words you like to apply. Excess rigidity in anything leads to excess reaction and then you end up with full-bore feminism” – The point of my comments was not to address every conceivable minor point connected to the subject, and one can only say so much in a comments section.
So, yes, discerning men need to recognize that their wives and other women can indeed have input into our movement but, again, they should NOT be the leaders of it. They should NOT be the face of it. I defer to my wife in all sorts of things that she has more knowledge of than I do, but she is in no way the leader of our home. The same should apply to any effort for among Whites to unify in a widespread effort on behalf of our race.
This is not about being ‘too rigid’ and the like, but about recognizing the natural order of things and how women best serve our cause in a support role. This doesn’t mean they can’t have a say in things, it just means that at the end of the day we as men have the final say. Maintaining a strong White male leadership will help to attract the kind of men we need for our cause, and women will naturally follow where strong and masculine men are at the helm.
Marine Le Pen, Marion Le Pen, Alice Weidel, Frauke Petry, Beata Szydło
A couple of points in response are in order:
(1) Marine Le Pen and other female leaders are politicians currently working within the european political ‘system.’ They are for a particular party within their respective countries striving to stave off the Islamic and African invasion. However, they are NOT explicitly and expressly pro-White per se, although they hint at it on occasion. Still, they must be careful to not make themselves too pro-White, and so they tend to sound more like America’s ‘Alt-Lite’ who are bent on ‘saving western civilization’ but are less bold when in comes to White racial identity. The pro-White racial element must always be kept on the down-low, and the ‘Jewish Question’ must not be openly discussed even though Jews present the biggest threat to our survival.
These women, though they may be fine people in their own respect, are not what I am speaking of in my comments. I am talking about a future and established leadership among our people comprised of strong and masculine men who will inspire and provide guidance for future generations. This is the proper task of males in my opinion, and not that of women. Granted, there may be exceptions on rare occasions, but this is not something normative and it hasn’t been the case throughout human history. Men have always been the leaders of any great people and society. I am not disparaging the hard work of Marine Le Pen and other women, but only that men should take the leading role in this area.
(2) I’m persuaded that many of these women have arisen and gain popularity, in part, because far too many White man have abdicated their leadership role. They have become timid and vacillating in large measure. Thus, these women are filling a missing gap that men should have provided in the first place. However, this will not always be as our men begin to emerge from their multicultural and feminist bubbles and recognize their duty and place in a worldwide movement for White identity. Thus, what we see among the likes of Marine Le Pen is temporary and of a different realm altogether. It is the first stages of uniting our people, but it’s not the final product so to speak.
It is encouraging, in this our ‘winter of discontent,’ that so much of the leadership and foot soldiers on the Left are female. The risk in this to the Alt Right is that we react by adopting rhetoric dismissive of women generally. The pervasive feminization of the leadership on the Left is a profound structural defect.
“It is encouraging, in this our ‘winter of discontent,’ that so much of the leadership and foot soldiers on the Left are female” – True, and I agree. The reason much of the Left’s leadership and foot soldiers are female is because women in large measure are run by their emotions, and not by their brains. They are lovely, but quite emotional creatures. They are also generally gullible and have a ‘helping’ and nurturer nature that the Left exploits for their Utopian schemes. This is NOT what we on the dissident and race-conscious Right should want. We should recognize the great contributions that women can make for our cause in support roles, but we ought to be careful to not go beyond their more innate qualities which can damage our movement.
“The risk in this to the Alt Right is that we react by adopting rhetoric dismissive of women generally.” True again, but a proper perspective of this in my opinion is to recognize BOTH the wonderful contributions that women can make for our cause, while still maintaining an exclusively strong male leadership. The Left lies to women when it tells them they are just as intellectually capable, physically strong, emotionally stable, and critically discerning as men. We cannot afford to spread such lies among our women as the Left does. Again, when strong White men lead, our women will naturally follow.
What the alt right needs more than any of this is a whale willing to financially back it. I get the logic in a military leader but I don’t want to follow a hero from the Iraq war. It made more sense to have a military leader who participated in a World War. The Politicians will come AFTER the money.
I submitted an article to this site and others probably a year ago postulating the dire need for political organization, legal protection for members, social organizations and etc etc.
The Alt Right should have been a political party a long time ago now. Is there still momentum anymore? Will people finance such an endeavor at this stage? It’s hard to say really as a majority of our supporters are just watching from the sidelines, afraid of being doxxed and fired, maybe assaulted, it’s hard to say.
We need brave souls to step forward, propose a new political entity and request financial support immediately. We need legal aid to make a public display: you can’t just dox people and destroy their lives anymore because they said something hurtful.
Until we’re on even philosophical and “moral” ground legally with the left we’re always going to be shadow running and on the defensive.
This is a sad truth we need to face. I cannot recall any revolutionary movement of any consequence, no matter how radical and underground, that did not have the backing of moneyed people.
…political organization, legal protection for members, social organizations and etc etc.
Correct insofar as the Alt Right needs a supporting infrastructure:
* Info ops
* Self defense
* Legal defense
* Cultural-social activities
* Building fronts with allied groups
* Fundraising (especially, as money drives everything else!)
The Left is very good at building such infrastructure, and this pays off in their successful street actions.
Where the Alt Right has been very good is at online network-centric operations. It was the very amorphous nature of the Alt Right pre-Charlottesville which provided its strength. The Alt Right was everywhere and nowhere, stRiki-Eiking with memes then withdrawing into cyberspace to plan new virtual ambushes.
The level of repression directed against the Alt Right post-Charlottesville was over the top. The System abandoned any pretense about “tolerance,” “diversity” and “equal justice” (not to mention the First Amendment) and instead resorted to outright censorship, canceling of funding services, collusion with violence prone leftist groups in the streets, and general hysteria over “Nazis.”
Was this because the Left requires an enemy on the Right, and the Unite the Right rally provided a pretext for repression?
Is it because the Alt Right is really on to something and underneath it all, the System can not stand a meta-political challenge?
Perhaps the Alt Right needs more time in the online “Sierra Maestra” pushing the meta-politics to create the base for the infrastructure.
Then the Alt Right can move into the realworld.
And people expose not just themselves but their entire network of contacts. Everyone should spend 15 minutes a day learning internet security and managing their digital identity. It should be a habit like excercise and brushing teeth.
But what’s even more disappointing is the unwillingness of the computer age generation to actually learn how to use the internet. For example, shadow banning should not be an issue in the movement. Most platforms offer tools to create personal news lists, and there’s no filtering on those channels. (Go to the Counter-Currents Twitter profile, click on the 3 dots to the right of the Follow button, click Add or remove from lists… and you’ll never miss a tweet.)
If they start running the usual shadow banning algorithms on personal lists, people can use Feedly, and if Feedly starts shadow banning, it only takes an hour to create a personalized website on a pointy-clicky interface and start pulling in content from feeds and APIs, automatically re-post items to social media accounts, etc.
Twitter or Facebook may ban the main Alt Right accounts, but purging all Alt Right followers and anyone who occasionally retweets them – I guess that’s about 50% of the population – would soon empty these platforms, so they would be extremely reluctant to do it. There are already many tools that let us use the internet in a peer-to-peer fashion, and if a critical mass of people bothered learning them, we wouldn’t need platforms at all.
I wouldn’t dismiss critiquing the Boomers as “daddy issues.” Their generation not only represents the material success of Anglo-Saxon capitalism — the gains that communism wishes it had achieved — but also its limits (if you have a human system set up to no purpose then it will eventually find a way to fall apart). Not that there’s anything wrong with what you said about working together, it’s just that such advice can sound like an excuse to stay on the couch.
I’d just add that Andrew Anglin is a much better writer than he gets credit for. IMO he’s the Eric Hoffer of our time (despite the small difference of opinion over WWII), i.e. exactly the type of thing teenagers should be reading to prepare themselves for the philosophers they will meet in whatever replaces our current collapsing academic institutions. His articles also have excellent entertainment value, but perhaps that only applies to those of us who laugh out loud at Full Metal Jacket.
Do we really need a Leader? Do we need some central bureaucracy supporting the Leader?
I honestly don’t know, so I’m posing these questions as a sort of inquiry.
Antifa is explicitly decentralized. This is because they learned from their counterparts in Europe, as well as from the experience of US leftists in the 60s, that Western security forces are extremely good at infiltrating, co-opting, and disrupting centralized activism.
I can’t speak authoritatively on the Italian Right, but hasn’t Casa Pound adopted antifa’s model for such reasons? With no centralized source of power, the State cannot cut off the movement’s head.
This being said, we certainly need more public figures. We already have some good ones: Greg Johnson, Jared Taylor, James Edwards, Richard Spencer, Mike Enoch, plus a whole host of rising stars on YouTube. I would have to say that Richard Spencer seems to be the most compelling, but I’m sure many would disagree. Many more strong, compelling public activists couldn’t hurt.
The fact is that the alt-right continues to be unable to organize in public without facing violence from the left. It’s also the case that the alt-right has been “terms of serviced” in such a way that online activism is much harder. These are big problems.
In this sense, the alt-lite are useful to alt-right. Last week’s battle royale in Portland proved the point, yet again, that the alt-right isn’t violent – it’s the left’s determination to keep anything they perceive as the alt-right from being able to organize in public that is the source of violence. Perhaps alt-right folks who want to be active in public should join alt-lite groups?
Next year will be insane. Trump will be on tour again and leftist violence will intensify. Every form of media at our disposal could be used to expose leftist violence and turn people further to the right (most normies tend to be vaguely conservative).
“Do we really need a Leader? Do we need some central bureaucracy supporting the Leader?”
Your answer is NOPE. The tea party was the first manifestation of the right trying to stop the American Nazi party from overthrowing the Const, and they were IMMEDIATELY co-opted by giant govt progressive republicans.
It means that despite the yammerings of dolts that say, “more atoms than the solar system combined” regarding crypto, there is NO SUCH CRITTER as security on the internet.
Andrew Nowicki has insightful, and perhaps inciteful, comments on the state of leadership on the Alt Right, in ‘Why are Alt-Right leaders such dismal failures.’ [alternativeright.blogspot.com] I agree with Mr. Nowicki’s premise that Alt-Right leaders to date are dismissive of persons on the Alt Right, or who might be attracted to the Alt Right.
