Speak the Truth or Kiss it All Goodbye

Blacks have now presented us with a choice: either we speak the truth about racial differences, or we get on our knees and watch as they burn our civilization down.

The riots “protesting” the death of George Floyd have now been raging for days. So far, there are seventeen confirmed deaths, countless assaults, businesses burned and looted, property destroyed, landmarks desecrated. Monuments not just to Confederate dead, but to the men who died in World II have been defaced. Even graves have been desecrated — not those of Jeff Davis or John C. Calhoun, but graves less than fifty years old. Presumably, vandals thought they were the graves of whites, so that was enough. In New York City, police stood by as black rioters looted Macy’s on 34th Street. Many small businesses, already crippled by the COVID-19 shutdown, may never come back. Big business, meanwhile, can afford to virtue signal about “Black Lives Matter.”

It is an orgy of mindlessness. Blacks have also looted and burned their own neighborhoods — as they have always done, whenever the US undergoes another wave of “race riots.” Seeking the latest news on New York City’s curfew, I googled a few keywords and got a story saying that this is the city’s first curfew since the 1943 race riots. I guess when I was a naïve, quasi-liberal teenager I would have “understood” why blacks rioted in 1943. But there’s been a lot of water under the bridge since then: the integration of schools, the Civil Rights Act, Affirmative Action, forced busing, trillions spent on social programs and charities primarily benefitting blacks, and the two-time election of a black president. Still, the grievances and demands and violence continue — with no end in sight.

In fact, it will never end. But this is not so much due to blacks, as to the cowardice of the whites who fail to stand up to them and to call out the lies told by these “protestors” and those who support them. We have all seen the spectacle of whites kneeling in the streets, begging forgiveness for sins they never committed against blacks long dead, for which today’s privileged blacks have already been handsomely recompensed. The Lego company has announced that it will recall its cute little police figurines, in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. Lego will also recall its White House playset, since it must also signal that it is anti-Trump. In Dallas, officials have removed a statue of a Texas Ranger which had stood in a passenger terminal of the city’s airport since 1963. In Washington, a group of Democrat senators, complete with pandemic face masks, sank to their knees in the Capitol rotunda to show solidarity with the rioters terrorizing their home districts.

What is still more disgusting, however, are the alleged “conservatives” who have either remained silent or expressed support for the rioters. While some on Capitol Hill, including Sen. Ted Cruz, have expressed strong support for the President’s condemnation of the violence, the Senate’s Republican leadership has remained largely silent. Meanwhile, former President George W. Bush has awakened from his slumbers in Texas to express solidarity with Black Lives Matter. “The only way to see ourselves in a true light is to listen to the voices of so many who are hurting and grieving,” Bush has said. “We can only see the reality of America’s need by seeing it through the eyes of the threatened, oppressed, and disenfranchised.” Nancy Pelosi couldn’t have put it better herself.

Alleged “Mad Dog” General James Mattis has even gotten in on the act. “We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers,” he said in an astonishing interview with The Atlantic. Huh? Apparently, the General is a loyal CNN viewer. The protestors, he said, are “rightly demanding . . . Equal Justice Under Law.” Mattis went on to condemn the President: “Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people. . . Instead he tries to divide us.” As Pat Buchanan has pointed out [1], the truth is that Americans were initially united in their outrage over George Floyd’s death. The anti-white pogrom that followed is what did the dividing, and, so far as I know, Trump had nothing to do with that. The “Mad Dog” is either a fool or, contra his reputation, a coward bending his knee to the mob.

But, speaking of Trump, where is he in all of this? His words, for the most part, have been strong, but where are his actions? Riots have been continuing for well over a week, with property damage in the millions and possibly billions. Police are being targeted for assassination. Yet Democrat governors and mayors have, for the most part, done nothing. Polls show a large majority of Americans favor federal intervention to stop the rioting. And still, Trump will not act.

Tucker Carlson has theorized that Jared Kushner has been staying the President’s hand, telling his father-in-law that drastic action will make him look bad or cost him black votes in November. (The Republican dream of winning over black voters will never die, it seems.) It is almost certainly true that Trump is worried about the optics of the whole thing. I think we are all beginning to realize that whatever lies have been told about him, the charge that he is a narcissist is dead on target. For example, there was the bizarre incident in March when Trump Tweeted about the TV ratings for his COVID-19 briefings [2], boasting that they matched those of a season finale of The Bachelor.

The irony of all this (to put it mildly) is that the riots are a political golden opportunity for Trump. In 2016, he successfully promoted himself as a “law and order candidate.” It’s a strategy that worked for Nixon twice, when middle America was shocked by the chaos and lawlessness of the late 60s/early 70s (which included race riots, of course). Trump would demonstrate strength, and, more importantly, save lives and property if he took decisive action. But apparently, he is more worried about handing the press another opportunity to vilify him — even though it was demonstrated long ago that the press will vilify Trump no matter what he does.

Indeed, the media, like General Mattis, has blamed “Trump’s America” for the violence, while at the same time actively downplaying that same violence. Notoriously, an MSNBC reporter appeared live on camera in Minneapolis claiming that protests there were “not generally speaking unruly” while a building burned directly behind him [3]! (Nothing to see here! Move along!). Protests have now spread to the UK, where blacks also apparently will seize upon any excuse to riot. In London the other day twenty-seven police officers were injured in protests described by the BBC as “largely peaceful [4].”

A question looms, one which has been troubling me and, I’m sure, many of my readers: what is the Left’s “grand strategy” in all of this? I believe that there is a strategy, but that, in keeping with American tradition, it is short term, with no thought for any future beyond November 2020.

New York City just announced it will not prosecute individuals for unlawful assembly and disorderly conduct. This essentially gives the thugs of Black Lives Matter carte blanche to do whatever they like in Bill de Blasio’s city. But wasn’t it the same de Blasio who declared less than a month ago that protests against the COVID-19 lockdown were “illegal,” and threatened to arrest protestors for unlawful assembly? And wasn’t the alleged reason for this that large gatherings could spread the deadly virus?

Several days ago, a letter concerning the BLM protests [5] was released, bearing the signatures of approximately 1,200 medical professionals. It reads, in part,

as public health advocates, we do not condemn these gatherings as risky for COVID-19 transmission. We support them as vital to the national public health and to the threatened health specifically of Black people in the United States. . . . This should not be confused with a permissive stance on all gatherings, particularly protests against stay-home orders. Those actions not only oppose public health interventions, but are also rooted in white nationalism and run contrary to respect for Black lives. Protests against systemic racism, which fosters the disproportionate burden of COVID-19 on Black communities and also perpetuates police violence, must be supported.

In short, the mask is now off and dangling around their necks (as is, so I am told, the fashionable way to wear a surgical mask in the hood). Mass gatherings, even if they have the potential to spread a lethal virus, are condoned if they advance a Left-wing agenda. Protests over the overreach of authoritarian Leftist governors and mayors are forbidden, for they are “rooted in white nationalism.” And what about the virus? What about the risk to the crowds? Well, apparently COVID-19 takes a break when the protestors’ intentions are good.

Can there be any remaining doubt that the COVID-19 crisis has been exploited by the Left for political ends? There were two objectives here. The first was simply to expand their power. As Alain de Benoist recently noted [6],

Without falling into conspiracy theories, it is clear that confinement also constituted a test of full-scale docility. We were able to assess under what conditions it was possible to turn people into their own jailers. At the same time, on the pretext of a state of health emergency, new surveillance and control measures have been adopted which are likely to be perpetuated by being incorporated into ordinary law. Measures taken in the past to combat terrorism have similarly affected the entire population. Each crisis thus gives an opportunity to tighten the screws.

The second objective was to crash the economy and render Trump unelectable in November. Leftists insisted, repeatedly, that the shutdown would have to continue for many months, perhaps for a year. (“At least until . . . the . . . the middle of November! Yeah! That’s it. That’s the ticket . . .”) Things couldn’t be reopened, they said, until a vaccine was developed (conveniently omitting to mention that science has never, ever developed a vaccine for any coronavirus). The trouble is that reality did not cooperate, as it seldom does with the Left. Deaths and hospitalizations in most cities in the US showed signs of peaking in mid-April. Inevitably, that led to reasonable calls to open America back up, if cautiously. And parts of the country began doing that, without ill effect. With businesses opening up, and with the help of the stimulus money Washington pumped into the economy, unemployment numbers began dropping.

It was at this point that Officer Derek Chauvin saved the day for the Left by putting his knee on the neck of George Floyd. A coincidence? Absolutely. Were the protests that ensued “orchestrated”? No, they were spontaneous and in keeping with spontaneous explosions of black anger in the past. But it was not long before these protests spread, became a “movement,” and became more and more violent. And this most certainly was orchestrated, my friends. Just as COVID-19 was a real thing, seized upon by the Left for political ends, so too was the death of George Floyd and its immediate aftermath. There is abundant, credible evidence that black mobs received money, equipment, planning, and logistical support from Left-wing activists and organizations — just as the civil rights movement in the 60s was aided by white and Jewish Marxists, with financial support from Moscow, as a means to destabilize the US. Left to their own devices, black mobs could probably not even organize a banana peeling.

Once again, the idea is to create a situation that would make Trump unelectable. Widespread social and economic chaos is pretty bad for incumbent presidents in an election year, which is the reason LBJ chose not to run for a second term. Perhaps Leftists cannily perceived that Trump would be hesitant to act; that he, like everyone else, would be terrified to be branded, yet again, a “racist.” This is the Left’s short-term strategy — to oust Trump by whatever means necessary. But what about the long term?

If the senescent Joe Biden wins in November (which seems now to be a real possibility) what kind of country will he inherit? What will be left of our cities? What will be left of our culture? What will be left of the white working and middle classes, who are the backbone of this country, and who pay for the free rides enjoyed by the blacks who despise them? Will Biden actually be able to get his looney Left-wing colleagues to back away from their calls to defund or disband the police? This man is simultaneously cynical and clueless, so he probably thinks that things will simply go back to “normal” and that he will usher in an era of “Obama II.” He is wrong. There is no going back after this. These “protests against racism” have done irreparable damage to our already fragile race relations in the US.

What exactly is the Left thinking? The answer is that, beyond the short-term goal of “get Trump,” they are not thinking at all. We are witnessing the last, desperate stand of an intellectually bankrupt ideology. As it becomes increasingly impossible to ignore that ideology’s catastrophic failures, and its war against reality, Leftists do not engage in introspection. For a long time, the Left has essentially been a religious cult. So, instead of introspecting, they double down. They move to silence dissent, and they damn the reality that resists reordering itself according to their fantasies. Yes, the Left is dying — but like a wounded animal, it is now more dangerous than ever.

Indeed, the Left has undergone a kind of apotheosis. All disguise and dissimulation have been stripped away and they have achieved identity with their essence: slave morality, ressentiment, hatred of the good for being the good, “a rebellion of everything that crawls on the ground against that which has height.” The Left is just plain, naked, smirking evil now. And they are in full scorched-earth mode. Let the cities burn. Let businesses be destroyed (but, oh no, not Apple and Amazon and Google!). Let the middle class be destroyed. Erase our culture and our history. Disband the police, open the jails, and let criminals prey upon the innocent. And, most of all, kill whitey. Even the babies. Not one white person is innocent. We are witnessing an orgy of hatred and destruction, brought to you by the apostles of love and tolerance.

These are very dark days, but one fact shines out: this is not happening because the mobs have more power than we do. It is happening because we are allowing it to happen. We have given them the power they have. A healthy society, a healthy white majority that was sure of itself and morally unconfused, could have shut these mobs down in one day. But what of the Leftist elite? Don’t they have greater power than us? There too, they derive their power from our consent. We have consented to make them moral authorities. We have allowed them to define the limits of “acceptable” discourse. Cravenly, we have again and again conceded them the moral high ground. Why? Ultimately, the reason has to do with the fact that Leftist ideology is the distilled essence of a certain sermon on a certain mount, which we have all been virtue-signaling our approval of, but never fully believing in, for almost two thousand years.

What can we do? There is one and only one way to stop this madness, and that is to begin speaking the truth about race. It is a simple solution, but it is extraordinarily hard, given the social costs. Specifically, four things need to be said or discussed:

1. We need to stop making concessions to the mob by virtue-signaling about George Floyd. This guy was a career criminal who spent five years in prison for an armed robbery during which he pointed a pistol at a pregnant black woman’s abdomen. When he died, he was being arrested for passing counterfeit bills. At the time, he had methamphetamine, fentanyl, and THC in his system. Oh, and as an added bonus, he had tested positive for COVID-19, but apparently didn’t think it was a problem being out and around other people. Did Officer Chauvin intend to kill him? Obviously not. So why did he ignore Floyd’s cries of “I can’t breathe,” which began when Floyd was standing up? Probably because he had spent years on the force listening to the bullshit constantly talked by black criminals. Bullshit like telling officers he was “claustrophobic” when they wanted to put him in the back of their squad car. Why did Chauvin keep his knee on Floyd’s neck for so long? Probably because he had spent years on the force watching black criminals resist arrest, and pop back up again after being subdued, Rodney King style. No one is going to say that Floyd deserved to die. But nobody intended to kill him, and he brought it all on himself. The guy was scum.

2. We need to start talking about black on white crime. For more than a week, Tucker Carlson has been engaged in a display of “esoteric writing” (or scripting) that would impress Leo Strauss. Without actually talking about whites and blacks he has been talking about them, in code. He speaks of “the Americans who build things” versus “those who burn/tear them down.” Whoever could he be talking about? A few nights ago he directly addressed the issue of whether white police officers are victimizing blacks. In 2019, Tucker pointed out, there were only ten cases in which a white police officer shot an unarmed black man. Astonishingly, Tucker then went through the details of each case. The takeaway was that there was only one instance in which a black man hadn’t been resisting arrest, behaving in a threatening manner, trying to run police over in his car, and so on. But here’s where Tucker cannot go — probably not without being fired from Fox News. He cannot name the fact that each year, the rate of black-on-white crime is roughly nine times the rate of white-on-black. Yet BLM, and its craven allies on both sides of the aisle, assert that blacks are victimized by whites. Even that there is “genocide” going on against blacks. This is the Big Lie, folks. It is whites who are suffering at the hands of blacks — in large numbers. But we are terrified to say anything about it, even as our friends and family members are assaulted and raped and killed by black criminals. And they add insult to injury by inverting the facts, and labeling us as “racists.” This is an obscenity we have endured long enough. The mob is right: we must speak the truth about racial injustice in America. But the truth is that whites are the real victims.

3. Here are some further facts about race and crime that must be mentioned, already well known to my readers: blacks, who make up about 13% of the US population, commit more than 50% of all violent crime. The facts are actually more shocking than this, since it is almost entirely men who commit violent crimes. Thus, it’s actually about 6% of the US population, black males, that commit more than 50% of the violent crime. We enter “Theater of the Absurd” territory when the media and BLM tell us that black rioters are crusaders for social justice, challenging the tyranny of the “systemically racist” police. Actually, what we are witnessing is a criminal underclass hating the police because the police have a tendency to arrest them and take them to jail. A simple truth must be spoken: blacks get arrested and jailed so much because they commit so many crimes.

4. But why? Why do blacks commit so many crimes? Here we reach the ultimate, forbidden truths that cannot be spoken, but now must be. Is it poverty? No, we know it’s not poverty, because other comparably poor groups, in their own poor neighborhoods, do not commit anywhere near the level of crime that blacks do. Is it racism? Well, blacks, as noted earlier, are the beneficiaries of massive social programs designed to assist them, and they receive preferential treatment in hiring, promotion, and school acceptances (what we ought to call “black privilege”). No, we must look to other factors. Like the fact that the average black IQ is 85. Like the fact that psychological tests show that blacks (compared to whites and Asians) have low impulse control, a low capacity for long-range thinking, low empathy, and a higher tendency toward anti-social personality traits. Add into this witch’s brew testosterone levels significantly higher than those of whites or Asians and you have a recipe for impulsive, violent, anti-social behavior. (Testosterone is linked to aggression.) You’re probably not going to hear Tucker discussing any of these facts.

You can buy Jef Costello’s Heidegger in Chicago here [8]

But discuss them we now must — all of them. You see, we could avoid discussing them in the past because we could avoid blacks. We could live in the nicer, whiter neighborhoods of Atlanta or Chicago. We could move into gated communities. If worse came to worse, we could move to small towns, far away from large numbers of blacks. And for all their victimization of whites, blacks generally stayed in their neighborhoods and victimized each other (the bulk of black crime is black-on-black; that’s how they demonstrate their racial solidarity). But the situation has now changed. Blacks have left their neighborhoods and are burning and looting yours. Even uber-white enclaves like tony Fifth Avenue in New York. And they are doing all of this with the encouragement of elites. The police are not going to come and help you anymore. They are scared shitless they are going to wind up like Derek Chauvin, who is already a dead man.

We are being forced to have a conversation about race. Finally.

“So,” you may be wondering, “are you asking me to jump off a cliff here? Asking me to lose my job and my family and ruin my life? Do I need to martyr myself by ‘speaking out’?” No, not exactly. You don’t need to be in the vanguard, because the process is already underway. Commentators have often noted that the Left has moved further and further left over the last thirty years, and that this is pushing conservatives to the right. But it is more accurate to say that as the Left gets loonier, it exercises a magnetic pull on the Right, moving the Right to the center: what was once “Right-wing” now begins to look more and more like sanity and common sense. One could equally well say that the center is shifting to the right. The “George Floyd protests” have accelerated this process.

As I have already noted, though Tucker Carlson is probably not ever going to name certain facts, he has recently been making statements that are bolder and more “Right-wing” than I thought I would ever hear on television. I predict that eventually he will go too far for Fox, or decide that he cannot go far enough on that network, and quit and start an epic podcast that rivals Joe Rogan’s. This would be good for Tucker (who, I suspect, is much closer to us than he would admit). After all, isn’t the average age of Fox’s viewers around 79 or something? He deserves to reach a bigger, younger audience.

Then there is Rush Limbaugh, who I stopped listening to many years ago. As I got more radical, he just started looking like a Republican shill. The other day, however, Limbaugh appeared on “The Breakfast Club” podcast [9], which is hosted by three blacks. He began with a cringeworthy ode to St. George Floyd, but then asserted that what happened to Floyd was “not America.” One of the hosts, who styles himself “Charlamagne tha God” insisted that, no, this is America and that America “works for the people that it was designed to work for.” (Umm, who else should it work for, I feel compelled to ask; is China racist because it works best for the Chinese?).

“I don’t buy into the notion of white privilege,” Limbaugh said. “I think that’s a liberal political construct along the lines of political correctness that’s designed to intimidate and get people to shut up and admit they’re guilty of doing things they haven’t done.” The hosts were outraged, insisting that what happened to Floyd would not have happened to a white man. Limbaugh countered that if the same thing had happened to a white man, we never would have heard about it — implying that, in fact, it is blacks that are privileged. I submit that with these statements Limbaugh has crossed over into Jared Taylor territory.

I could offer other examples. Examples that would include (surprisingly) the ultra-conventional Republican Charlie Kirk, and also Ann Coulter [10] (who’s always been pretty out-there but is now getting more so). The point is that a shift is taking place. Again, as the Left lurches further to the left, the Right is moving to the center and at least some of the things we thought were unsayable are now getting said. This is good, because it makes it easier for us to say them. This process is going to continue, because the Left is going to get loonier (they always do), and the outrages will continue and will get worse. (As I noted earlier, we’ve even arrived at the desecration of graves.) Eventually, it will be hard to tell Tucker Carlson apart from Jared Taylor. Eventually, Ann Coulter will morph into Greg Johnson (or a Russian wolfhound; I’m not sure which).

The way in which cultural shifts take place is kind of mysterious. To borrow a page from, of all people, Friedrich Engels, it’s sort of like first you get a series of quantitative changes that increase in number until suddenly there’s a qualitative change. In ordinary English: a few people start doing it (it’s helpful if they’re influential), then a few more and a few more, and then. . . BANG! Suddenly, overnight, it just feels like something has “shifted.” An era has come to an end, and things have realigned. The old admonitions are not working. The old inhibitions are overcome. It even feels weird to think they were ever there.

I can feel things shifting under my feet. What rough beast, its hour come round at last, slouches towards Minneapolis to be born?
