O čtení mezi řádky:
Příspěvek k výkladům Lea Strausse

Leo Strauss, 1899–1973

6,759 slov

English original here

Read more …

Chairman Soros’ (Not So) New Directive

George Soros

1,025 words

Maybe some of you can still remember those golden years, when the main proof of the dictatorial nature of a number of regimes within “the axis of evil” was that they allowed only restricted access to the internet. This distant past ended the day before yesterday, when George Soros, suddenly becoming a fierce enemy of Facebook and Google, predicted that the new lethal weapon of “the enemies of open societies” would be an alliance of digital technologies and authoritarianism. Against One-Dimensional Reading of History

Who built that? For what purpose?

2,216 words

After the recent debate on Andy Warski’s YouTube channel between Greg Johnson, the Academic Agent and others, the Academic Agent posted a series of videos arguing against Greg Johnson’s positions. In one of them, childishly titled Greg Johnson Doesn’t Understand History,[1] he tries to explain historical progress from a libertarian standpoint. Read more …

Plato’s Spiritual Exercises

1,764 words

Translator’s Note: The following is drawn from Pierre Hadot, Qu’est-ce que la philosophie antique? (Paris: Gallimard, 1995), pp. 107-114. The footnotes have been simplified. The quotes of Plato have generally been drawn from Plato, Complete Works, ed. John M. Cooper (Indianapolis: Hackett, 1997). The title is editorial.

In his Seventh Letter, Plato states that if one does not adopt this [philosophical] way of life, then life is not worth living, and that is why one must immediately decide to follow this “path,” this “marvelous path.” This way of life incidentally requires a considerable effort, which must be renewed each day. Fernando Pessoa

4,439 words

Fernando Pessoa was the greatest Portuguese poet of the modern era and arguably one of the most interesting and protean literary figures of the twentieth century. His vast body of work, some of which remains unpublished, includes hundreds of poems as well as essays on philosophy, religion, literature, and politics. His verse combines avant-garde modernism with pagan mysticism and a vision of national rebirth. Read more …

The 1990s & Contemporary Pro-White Metapolitics

Mexican Identity Politics during the Protest of California’s Proposition 187 in 1994

2,098 words

I was born in 1996. Despite my lack of memories of this decade, many readers of Counter-Currents undoubtedly have strong, perhaps viscerally negative impressions of the years 1990 to 2000, wherein optimism surrounding globalization made the Western intelligentsia confidently proclaim the last man and the end of history. Some of you might have positive memories of a simpler time before you were red pilled. Read more …

On Rousseau’s Discourse on Inequality

3,313 words

In order to embrace the Right, whites must first overcome their shame and embarrassment when contemplating race. Our most difficult and dangerous hurdle, I believe, but also our most important one. Much of this involves resisting the temptation to impute a typical white temperament onto non-whites, especially primitive non-whites. Read more …
